Halloween Unit

Incorporating reading, writing, and math activities with Halloween related items make these activities fun for your child while still giving your child opportunities to learn new things.  Every year children have looked forward to the arrival of the Pumpkin Patch Pals and all of the new Halloween activities with eager anticipation.

Math Skills:

Children are full of questions and this activity allows, and encourages, the search for answers.

Using pumpkins or gourds you will make a game for your child to play to determine her understanding of terms like: smallest and biggest.

Reading Skills:

Spending time with children and sharing the gift of reading has always been one of my favorite pastimes. Incorporating a lesson in the process gives this activity added meaning.

Children delight in telling stories and surprising adults with silly songs.

Writing Skills:

For many children Halloween is a national holiday! They enjoy taking on a new personality of the costume they are wearing. Incorporating activities that are based on objects that children relate to Halloween make this unit fun and hands-on.

Selecting your child's costume with him creates memories for years to come. You can make the costume with your child's help, go to your local costume shop.
